Genesis10 is currently seeking an API Developer for a 6 month contract to hire role with our client in Minneapolis, MN. Remote opportunity Summary: As an API Developer you will create and/or modify solutions to complex software problems. This includes coding, testing, debugging, documenting, and maintaining those solutions. You will participate in leading smaller engineering efforts as well as contributing to larger, enterprise wide initiatives. The Engineering teams are challenged to partner across departments and divisions to achieve the best outcomes for our customers. Technical Skills: API developers should have comprehensive technical skills, including the following: Knowledge of API orchestration (the ability to develop multiple API code lines simultaneously and make them work together) Understanding of service-oriented architecture (SOA) Proficiency with common API development tools, including J2EE, JUnit, Make file, TortoiseSVN, JSON, PHP, Apache JMeter, and Tomcat Design, develop, and operate high scale applications across the full engineering stack. Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following best practices. Apply modern software development practices (serverless computing, microservices architecture, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, etc.) What experience you need Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience 5 years of hands on experience in developing API Experience in Java 17, Spring Boot 3, and RESTful API design Deep understanding of Microservices architecture, distributed systems, and inter-service communication protocols Deep knowledge and practical experience with caching solutions, including Redis Experience in implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment processes. Proficiency in relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB or Cassandra) Design, implement, support cloud-native applications on platforms such as Google Cloud and AWS. Proficiency in RESTful API design and development. Strong knowledge of API security best practices, including OAuth2 and JWT. Experience with API documentation tools such as Swagger or Postman What could set you apart Experience with Cloud technology: GCP, AWS, or Azure Experience designing and developing cloud-native solutions Leverage advanced cloud services like BigQuery, Bigtable, Pub/Sub, SQS, Event Bridge, GKE/EKS for delivery/Support Compensation: Hourly W2 pay rate: $80-$88/Hr.
