Job Description Job Description Description: SCHEDULE: Full-Time | Monday–Friday POSITION SUMMARY The Truck Driver is responsible for performing a variety of routine and complex transportation duties in support of the Transportation Department. This position operates a tractor with tanker trailer to transport propane and/or fuel products from supply points to designated company facilities in a safe, efficient, and compliant manner. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following: Operate assigned tractor/tanker trailer to pick up propane and/or fuel products and deliver them to assigned facilities Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections Safely and efficiently transfer products between transport vehicles and bulk storage systems Maintain compliance with all DOT, company, and regulatory requirements Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment Conduct all duties in accordance with established safety and security standards Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor Requirements: High School Diploma or GED preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience One (1) year relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to do the job Valid Class A State Driver’s License with HazMat and Tanker Endorsements Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving Ability to safely drive various vehicles Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors and the general public Ability to communicate effectively Ability to work independently Ability to perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions Ability to make independent judgments which have moderate impacts on the organization PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration.
